This project involves using crystal plasticity modelling to explore the effect of primary particle size distribution, volume fraction and spatial distribution in high recycled content 6XXX alloys on formability (e.g. FLD). A framework will be developed for virtual testing of particle-containing microstructures alongside criteria for the formability of such alloys. Experimental microstructures from material provided by Norsk Hydro and NTNU in Norway will be recreated and examined using the workflow.
